The Piano Pages
Accompaniment
OK, so you've been diligently working away at your
flute sonata for
months...and the big 'E' day is drawing near.
You've prepared your exam scales. But you wish you'd done more work on
the ear training last year, and the singing questions could be a
problem.
But the biggest worry of all is:
will you
cope with the piano accompaniment???
Will it put you off, especially when the piano part seems to have a different
number of beats? How could that be?
Come over to my home studio and we'll sort it all out.
I'm an excellent sight-reader with decades of experience. I'll provide
a very sympathetic piano accompaniment, following your tempo changes
perfectly, playing softly in the background while you're on show and
bringing out any interesting figures or solo lines in the
accompaniment when necessary.
If you're a little weak in the rhythm department I can put on my
teacher's hat and give you some expert lessons to strengthen your sense
of beat and sense of rhythm. And if you're doing an exam I'll
routinely check over all your notes for your General Knowledge
questions as I frequently find some big bloopers in there. I can go
over the musical scores and parts with you and explain all the keys,
terms, formal structures etc. Whatever needs fixing I can fix,
including a little ear
training and voice training.
Call me sooner rather than later as you may need several
rehearsals and
you want to book your exam date with me before someone else does.
